The Goal:
Help create a digital double of the film’s title character.
Legacy Effects created animatronics for use in the film “Earth to Echo” (above).
The story also called for moments that would be difficult, or impossible, to achieve by practical means.
This meant developing a 3d version of Echo whose animation would bring the character to life, and whose appearance would match any shots completed with animatronics.

•Responsible for 3d model cleanup & UV layout.
•Modeled new shell pieces for transitioning into shy/scared sequences.
•Modeled lens cracks, rotating LED layouts, and internal camera shutter pieces for the character’s eyes.
